You have to pay for a third party version of the same program to get support for google apps. Gmail should have the foresight to make it's own programs support the products that they offer.

A basic feature missing is notifying for new messages inside Labels. I do not use inbox for emails, and have filter rules which move them to the correct labels. It's a HUGE disadvantage because it cannot serve me a all. :(

Sorry to hear about this shrinking problem. I feel the pain. It happened after one of Google Desktop updates. The problem was reported to Google by several gadget developers - no response.

Used to be great, but (since desktop 5?) adjusts its own size according to the number of messages displayed. Very annoying!

Won't let me log in with my usual Google details "network/server error. please try again later" How much later please? It's been refusing me for some time now. No problems with other desktop gadgets sign-in.

why does it reduce in size randomly/automatically? why not show the latest in your inbox? otherwise its my favorite gmail checker.

Excellent gadget and very quick. I wish it could have a sorting option to view the latest first and so on ...

Gadget keeps disconnecting. Get dialog the says gadget may have stopped running. continue or remove gadget. At least twice a day, this dialog comes up. click continue and it works.

I would like an option to see less message detail, just number of new mails received and nothing of the message content since sometimes you can get spam etc. and I work in a semi-public env. where I may not want others to see certain things.

Love this gadget. It's great. The only improvement I would ask is to be able to have the option to read the entire email or conversation as it only displays the first part.

One of the other gadgets has the ability to REMOVE mails from the list without going to the web interface. I wish that were part of this. Additionally, it allows you to filter out certain emails. I get a lot of email that I like to see at off-hours and keep an eye on important email, so the other one works for that as well. However, the other one doesn't work for "hosted domains". Clicking on it brings you to generic Gmail rather than my company domain at google. Finally, some additional (non-gadget) applications have a nice little popup window that tells you you've got mail. i don't know if that is possible, but it sure would be nice, since I'm on a little laptop and tend to keep the side-bar hidden unless I hit shift twice. However, it satisfies my needs better than the others, so I'm sticking with it.

Gmail notifier for firefox when clicked on logs me into my Gmail-hosted account, but this one just brings me to the login page...I'd rather it logged me in.

Great tool! Been using it for a while. But today I updated to google Desktop new version, and the Gadget doest not let me resize it in expanded view.

Google Apps Email link within the new email message does not work, cannot find URL. This is the message that pops up when a new email arrives, if you click on the message to take you google then is fails with URL not found. This is only a problem for emails associated with Google Apps accounts, when I receive an email from a standard gmail account (not google apps) then then link work fine.

love that it collects messages from all my accounts! I'd love it even more if it had a quick way to clear the current list (or am I just missing something?)

Error whe used with 2 accounts, it can't access gmail : Google Error Not Found The requested URL /mail/help/signed_out.html?shva=1 was not found on this server.
