This is an excellent plug-in, as it can be configured to index any type of text file you wish. I have found it particularly useful because it has enabled me to index my Windows Live Mail files, not a facility currently offered by Google, for some unknown reason! (By the way, I had to move the default storage location for Live Mail files so that the indexer could access them). I had several email exchanges with Larry Gadea, who replied promptly and was very helpful.

Also used to love this plugin. However, it doesn't seem to be completely indexing my files (anymore? - Vista) and I've found a couple examples where files aren't being picked up when they definitely should. Sadly, I don't know how much I can really trust the results it returns any more.

At one time this add on worked great, but hasn't for some time, at least on my VISTA. I tried downloading it again and again to see if there has been an improvement. But never works. Why doesn't Google add this to their basic Desktop search and solve everybody's problem. I see by the comments that I am hardly alone and there are no alternatives except wordperfect's quickfinder which is not as convenient. Because I use WP this is very important to me and accounts for half of my would be Desktop Searches. Thank you in advance Google.

It works, but I would like to change indexable fileextensions during runtime.

This used to be a great plug-in, but now it seems to cause explorer.exe to constantly refresh and not actually index any text files.
