JAva PS3 Media Server is excellent, no problem. Google Media Server does not work

The mediaserver application is old (June 2008). INSTALLATION: Upon installation, it is detected as an untrusted application by the google desktop installer. Google Media scanner uses up 5 to 30% of the CPU as reported by the MS Wondows task mnanager. The ps3 detects errors in the wireless connection to the media server. The ps3 displays error messages continuously during a slide show. Works well on the ps3 nevertheless. The star-rating system is not available on a per-album basis for displaying slideshows.

Sadly i couldn't get it to work. Using; Google Chrome XP PRO SP3 Belkin router What didn't work; Couldn't login Settings not saved like who can connect And everything else What did work; The installer The uninstaller Thats it Bit disipointed :(

Google Desktop 5 doesn't support 64 bit Vista yet. Hence, I can't test the Google Media Server. Shame. Common Google... please add the support for 64 bit. Update - Now I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and it installs and seems to work with my PS3. HOWEVER... it is a little bit of a resource hog. So much so that I will most likely go back to TVersity.

Tried with my PS3 over wireless. Cuts out and loses connection. No problems with TVersity

Selected 'Choose folders to share'. Did not respond, no folders shown for selection. Tried Chrome, Firefox and even IE to no avail. Waste of time - I'll stick with PS3 Media Server thanks.

Couldn't get to the admin page using IE or Firefox. Wasted my time trying to troubleshoot so I uninstalled. XPSP3

if its not signing in, try firefox instead of google chrome. i spent 30 minutes trying to sign in on chrome, but it just wont work. go figure

I find it problematic that this media server is not a stand aloner application. I am not interested in Google Desktop, but very interested in the media server.

Not bad for Beta, needs alot more polishing, more options (folder management is horrid). Looking forward to future version!

I had to uninstall it because it was using 70% of my 1.5 Mbps connection and a lot of memory, I wonder WTH could it be using the net treaffic for...

BBwonder, that must be your computer cause I use Chrome as my default browser and it works perfectly.

After spending several minutes trying to understand why I couldnt view the admin webpage (using Google's own browser - Chrome) - I tried it using Internet explorer which worked first time!!! How did this app Pass Quality control??
