I agree with others about the choice of news source. It probably should be selectable, sort of in the manner of Web Clips. I'm not so much of a Trekker that I can figure out how the stardate is calculated. I'm just glad to see it's not something as transparent as the Julian date. As for the size, I keep most of my gadgets minimized in the sidebar and toggle them out expanded when I need to know something; so, the size doesn't bother me. All in all, good implementation.

I like it, but I agree with the others, it is too big... it should shrink down when put in the sidebar instead of being cropped. Also, instead of using Google news or StarTrek.com news (StarTrek.com has been unstaffed since around '06, CBS fired everyone), it should use the feed from TrekMovie.com the single MOST reliable source for Star Trek news anywhere on the web. Also, instead of Jupiter behind the stardate, it should be the UFP seal or StarFleet delta. And, finally REAL dates should be shown on the headlines.

I agree: we just want the StarDate, and nothing more.

I have to say, great job Google; just a few nit-pics: 1st, just have the stardate (no time, no news); 2nd, let us set it for DS9 or Voyager; and 3rd, have it look more like an LCARS readout. You know what I mean! Thanks Google!

I like it too, but it's really huge. It would be better if it could be minimized but still show the stardate

Looks fine but does not work for iGoogle (even it says that FF > 1.5 should be supported)
