TweakGDS failed in my system. WinXP Home, 11 partitions, all my research files are in partition M:, last in the chain. TweakGDS did put the index into M:, but all GDS searches ignore M: even after removing all other partitions from the index/search list. Indexing says there are ~300,000 items, but all are within all the previous partitions that I thought I had removed, and TweakGDS says it did remove. Need another solution. A life-saver -- my system partition was taken over by the index and my machine was paralysed. I was faced with an unpleasant choice: either uninstall GDS or find a way to move its index location to the data partition. A little Googling showed that RegEdit was one way to do this, TweakGDS was simpler and more direct. Thanks!

I'm unsure if this is actually a problem or not, however my Norton pegs this program as a security risk, and deletes it.

so there are actually only three "tweaks" =) 1) you can change your index files location 2) you can reindex some particular drive or location 3) you can change the number of search results per page from 1 to 1000 (instead of 10 which is the default value) so it doesnt make it much of a tweaker. but it's a solid application, it does what it's supposed to do. would recommend it you think you think you may need any of these three features.

It is a great plugin to get the real benefit of GDS. thanks guys ozcakir
