1. Download (don't open or run, just save it to local computer) the gadget 2. Rename the WeekNumber.gg as WeekNumer.zip (to rename an extension of a file search google with "rename extension file") 3. Open WeekNumer.zip and extract the archive to local computer 4. Locate main.js, right click on it an chose edit or chose Open With..."Wordpad" 5. Option a) Find inside the text the following text "week.innerText=getWeekNumber()" (without quotes) 6. Change the found text to "week.innerText=getWeekNumber()+1" (without quotes)...remember to keep the ; sign at the end of the line 7. Another option, option b) Find the "return WeekNumber" text and replace it with "WeekNumberB = WeekNumber + 1; return WeekNumberB" 8. Save this change (follow only one option a) or b)), exit the file, place everything back in a zip archive (only the contents of WeekNumer Folder if this was generated automatic by extraction) and rename the .zip file to .gg again 8. Run the WeekNumeber.gg file. Accept any warnings. The gadget will show the correct weeknumber! ... a more delicate approach must be made by the owner :P The gadget was not made to follow the ISO standards. You can dig google and wikipedia for more details why this gadget is not taking into account all possibilities.

Works great. thx for the detail

Does it follow ISO-8601 (from Monday to Sunday) or other (Sun to Sat)? By this question, getting week number is quite a different from each other.

The JS modification works perfect!

This is a workaround: 1) Rename the .gg file and extract to .zip 2) Edit main.js inside: WeekNumberB = WeekNumber + 1; return WeekNumberB 3) Save these changes and rename the zip file to .gg again 4) The gadget will show the correct weeknumber!

Anyone figure out how to adjust the week #. 2008 it worked great, now in 2009 I am off 1 week. Please help, I loved this gadget!!!

Herman: Same issue. Deleted the gadget.

I think US week numbers are one less than European (ISO 8601) when the 1st of January is a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. A choice between the two would be better than an offset imo.

Same problem...for this year, it says week 3 (1/23/09), but it is actually week 4. Would like an option to adjust the offset when needed.

Air
Yes I have the week number problem too, apparently this is week 2.

Is there a way to adjust the way the week number is calculated? My company considered Jan 5, 2009 to be week 2 while this gadget considers it to be week 1.

LolitaLoco
Yes!! Finally I can keep track of what week t is, easily. Seriously - this has been a problem for me... lol
