Uninstalling: Uninstall

If you're using Google Desktop version 5 or later, follow these steps to uninstall the product:

  1. Click the Start menu button in your Windows taskbar.
  2. Go to Programs > Google Desktop > Uninstall Google Desktop.
  3. Select the 'Remove completely for all users' option.
  4. Click the Yes button.
  5. If you'd like to delete your personal search index as well, deselect the 'Keep index and gadgets' checkbox.
  6. Click the Uninstall button to complete the process.

If you have an older version of Google Desktop, follow these instructions.

  1. Click the Start menu button in your Windows taskbar.
  2. Go to Programs > Google Desktop > Uninstall Google Desktop.
  3. If you'd like to delete your personal search index as well, deselect the 'Keep my index' checkbox.
  4. Click the OK button.

There are several ways to remove Google Desktop, so if you're having trouble using the above steps, try these alternative methods. You can also uninstall Google Desktop for a username or domain that no longer exists.
