This is a known issue in Google Desktop 5.7.0801.1629 and a few older versions. To resolve this issue, please install the latest version of Google Desktop.
Certain antivirus definitions may flag Google Desktop or Google Updater behavior as trojan viruses. These notifications have proven to be false positives. You can continue to use Google Desktop normally after whitelisting the process in your security application.

At this time, Google Desktop doesn't index PDFs that include clear text data. We're working to enable indexing for several PDF formats, so please stay tuned.
The primary symptom of this problem is that nothing happens when you attempt to double-click and open the Google Desktop installer. (If you see an error message, this is not the same problem). There's currently no workaround, but we're investigating this issue.
This is an issue when repairing or "overinstalling" (overwriting your existing version by re-installing the same version) Desktop on your computer. Please try this simple workaround to resolve the problem. We hope to have this fixed in a future version of Desktop.
This issue results from a conflict with a Nero-related video software component named "NeVideo.ax." The Desktop team hopes to resolve this issue soon. As a workaround, you can temporarily disable Nero by preventing it from loading during start-up. After initial indexing is complete, these errors will no longer occur, and you can re-instate the Nero-related program's functionality.
This problem is related to connection latency between your computer and Google Desktop's servers. While we don't have an immediate workaround, we're working on a fix for a future edition.
Due to network issues between your computers and Google Desktop servers, you may be unable to synchronize gadgets across your computers. While we don't have an immediate fix, we're investigating ways to improve this feature and hope to resolve this issue in a future version of Desktop.
