How do I install Google Desktop for Linux?

Google Desktop for Linux is a free, downloadable application that allows you to search your files, music, and other media, email, and recently viewed webpages. To install Google Desktop for Linux systems, please visit http://desktop.google.com/linux/ to download the appropriate package type for your system (either rpm or deb). Once downloaded, please follow these steps to finish the installation process:

For rpm packages:

1. Open a terminal.
2. Switch to root privilege or use sudo to run the following command:

rpm -U google-desktop-linux-1.X.X.XXXX.rpm

For deb (Debian) packages:

1. Open a terminal.
2. Switch to root privilege or use "sudo" to run the following command:

dpkg -i google-desktop-linux_1.X.X.XXXX_i386.deb

Alternatively, you can also use your Linux system's GUI package management tool to install Google Desktop.
