To understand which version number of Google Desktop you have installed, right-click the Google Desktop icon located in the top-right (or bottom right) corner of your Linux desktop. Choose "About" from the menu that appears and a browser window will open displaying the Google Desktop version number on the bottom. The version number will have a format similar to "1.1.1.xxxx"
So how do I upgrade to the latest build?
Google Desktop automatically checks to see if you have the latest, most stable build installed. Google Desktop should automatically update as long as you have sufficient internet access. If you'd like to upgrade manually, please follow the instructions here.
